InData Labs Group Limited is a Nicosia-based Artificial Intelligence solutions provider. InData Labs has its own R&D center that helps companies across the world to find perfect solutions to their challenges.

The firm was founded in 2014.

To highlight and further understand what InData Labs Group Limited stands for and seeks to explore in this segment, I sat down with Marat Karpeko, a co-founder of the company.

Marat is a video gaming industry veteran and has got broad experience in big data analytics and wanted to utilize the knowledge for a new beginning. He’s also passionate about helping companies solve challenges they face by adapting the state-of-the-art technologies and thus pushing the exponential business growth despite economic slowdowns and other crises.

Q. What makes your company great? And how uniquely do you enable your clients to extract valuable business insights from their data, automate repetitive tasks, enhance performance, add AI-driven features, and prevent cost overruns?

InData Labs’ mission is to partner our clients in the tech transformation of their business. We bring the power of data science and artificial intelligence to the clients who want to leverage data and ML algorithms for enhancing business value and competitive advantage. Our skilled team of data scientists and engineers ensures timely delivery of innovative bespoke solutions to businesses of any size, from startups to large enterprises, and builds proprietary innovative AI-based products that make everyday life easier. We cater our solutions to the clients’ business needs and the specifics of the industry they work in. Q. As an AI company, InData Labs focuses on machine learning, AI software development, computer vision, and intelligent automation. Splendid. What are the other services the company offers?

We provide AI consulting services aimed at AI strategy development based on the client’s business technical audit, business goals set as well as thorough understanding of the industry.

In addition to offering the Computer Vision expertise with image analysis, object detection and video analysis solutions widely used in many industries, we’re experts in Predictive analytics. We help our clients derive insights from business data for customer behavior prediction, demand forecasting, dynamic pricing, churn prediction, etc.

We’re also involved in NLP service consulting and development, customer feedback analysis, sentiment analysis, context-aware search, audience analysis. These are the types of solutions we develop for our clients to solve their business challenges.

InData Labs provides data capture, data extraction and OCR services. Using our custom-made OCR solutions, our clients move from paper-based business processes to automated digital workflows and cut costs.

Q. ‘Our mission is to bring the power of AI to every business.’ How do you work towards your mission?

As mentioned above, we’re open to help businesses of all types: whether it’s a small retailer that needs an AI-based recommendation system, or a world-leading logistics company that needs full automation, or a state organisation implementing a time attendance system. Based on the business specifics and goals, budget and timing, we are flexible to offer the best solution that will suit the client and support both short-term and long-term sustainable business development. Q. What strategies are in place to encourage innovation in your company?

We’re always on the frontline of emerging technologies; we watch and follow the latest trends. We contribute to growing the AI and data science community. We host and participate in offline and online tech events and meetups for knowledge transfer.

Q. In what industries are your clients? Can you provide us with one or two success stories describing the challenges your clients faced and how your solutions helped them overcome those challenges?

We serve clients in the following industries: healthcare, sports and wellness, retail, e-commerce, fintech, security, game and entertainment, agriculture, marketing and advertising, logistics.

A deeper look into how InData Labs-built apps address our customers’ pain points:

For one of the digital health projects, we’ve developed an ML-based solution to improve accuracy of a period prediction app. Our data-driven solution has enabled more accurate menstrual cycle prediction. As a result, period prediction accuracy has increased to 54.2 percent. We’ve also enabled cycle prediction for women with irregular periods and provided recommendations on how to implement ovulation prediction in the app. This project bears importance for us providing a solution for women’s health care.

We are passionate about not only delivering technical solutions to solve a certain problem but following the triple bottom line and contributing to society as well.

Recently, we’ve delivered a pose estimation model for a fitness and physical therapy app. Our computer vision-based model enabled human posture detection in a real-time and error analysis and repetitions counting. As a result, we’ve helped the client detect and analyze human activity during workout or physical therapy. Now, our AI coach provides valuable insights and helps the users reach their fitness goals avoiding needless injury.

Q. Will InData Labs be expanding, bringing on any new services that we should be aware of?

Now the InData Labs team is over 60 of dedicated experts including data scientists, data analysts, consultants, architects, engineers, and designers. We also have a reliable network of partners ensuring access to wide expertise required to meet all needs of our clients. Our R&D center is constantly working on improving the existing and developing new solutions as required by the rapidly changing economic and business environment. We keep abreast, and we are always ready to face challenges and offer custom solutions for each specific need. Latest developments caused by COVID-19 showed that early adoption of technologies and prompt tech transformation of business can save it and even increase the profitability. Face recognition with mask detection, pose estimation technology for injury-free workouts at home, and a wide range of other computer vision technologies used for industries transferring their business online are just a few examples of recent solutions in demand. And we’re certainly planning to expand our services profile supporting businesses in addressing challenges they face as well as introducing new products.

Q. What plans for transformation are you pursuing to remain relevant now and in the future?

Flexibility, thorough knowledge and expertise together with the ability to understand the clients’ needs and anticipate the industry developments and offer state-of-the-art solutions to stay ahead of the curve are the key to succeed today and be relevant in the future. We do not stop in our development and constantly track new opportunities and transform accordingly taking to the future fresh ideas following the vision of our company.

Since 2004, he’s been a Chief Operations Officer at Wargaming Group Limited, a world-known video game company, and contributed a lot to the mobile gaming market development. Being led by the knowledge of the technology’s power and following the vision to bring clients’ business to success, Marat has established InData Labs in 2014.

Being a successful entrepreneur, Marat is also passionate about making humans achieve a more balanced ecology and he has established a Lemur foundation that aims to help protect Madagascar lemurs and prevent their extinction. Marat’s team leads the effort to secure lemur populations.
