Apple to release a special edition of its iPhone 8 and 8 Plus on 9th of April. The new colour is being released in collaboration with a company called RED, it is being released with cause to create awareness about HIV/AIDS in Africa.
Reports suggest also that the phones will be available for pre-order throughout America, in the usual iPhone retail strategy. There were no reports of the iPhone X to be sold in the colour red.
The organization RED was founded in the year 2006 by the U2's Bono, the lead singer of a famous Irish band and Bobby Shriver, an activist. The organization extends it licenses to other companies to spread the awareness of AIDS/HIV in eight African companies – Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, and Zambia. Apple previously has released a list of special (RED) edition gadgets in iPods, iPads, and cases in the past and only last year it released a special RED edition of the iPhone 7.
