Instagram plans to launch video streaming features

Now, there is yet another reason to be glued to our Instagram accounts! And it is the Instagram’s new video streaming features, which is soon going to be launched. It will offer a dedicated space featuring scripted videos and music videos of the longer form. For providing the same, Instagram has been meeting with social media stars and content publishers to understand how their channels would work within the app. Instagram would also be paying the content creators, although it hasn’t been finalized how payment from ads and revenue splitting would work. 

The attempt is to create a similar platform like YouTube. The videos would be ranging from 5 to 15 minutes in length. It may not have HBO or Netflix level quality but it would ensure high speed, full-screen, and high-definition resolution.  The salient features that could be expected from this Instatube are swipe-up options to open a link which can be used by creators to drive traffic to the website, and a “continue-watching” option which will allow the user to view long videos in intervals.

Though there is no information about how these videos would work with main Instagram feed, when the new feature would be announced or what would be its name but it is soon going to be a huge sensation of Instagram.

The Facebook family of apps may never be able to match up with the YouTube’s popularity in being the best video hub, but it can give YouTube a tough competition in the coming days! Nevertheless, it is great news for all the social media junkies.
