Microsoft Introduces Surface Hub Version 2

Microsoft Introduces Surface Hub Version 2
The Silicon Review
18 May, 2018

American Tech firm Microsoft unveils the next-generation of its giant conference room displays: Surface Hub 2. The announcement was made public earlier this week.

’’It’s a device that is designed for modern work and specifically it’s a big bet on the push towards group collaboration, something that’s becoming increasingly common as digital natives enter the workforce’’, said Robin Seiler, a general manager at Microsoft’s hardware division, and one of the co-creators of the Surface Hub 2.

Surface Hub 2 will run on Windows 10 supporting Surface Pen. Given the look of a modern TV, it will have 3:2 aspect ratio with extremely thin bezels. That’s the same ratio as all other Surface products, and Microsoft has clearly picked this to compliment the fact its giant display now rotates to a portrait position.

It is learnt that the tech firm has removed the video camera from the device and now people have to plug in their own video camera for use.

The second version, according to Microsoft, will not be available to the public before 2019 but few eligible customers will give a try to the new introduction.

“It doesn’t matter if it’s an IT space or a business environment. At the end of the day, if there’s something that gets people connected to the products themselves, it kind of brings the best out”, says, Panos Panya, Chief CEO Officer, Microsoft.
