Google’s Chromecast now supp...Chromecast is a series of digital media players designed and owned by Google. Google has announced an interesting feature in Chromecast’s latest update that allows playing music in sync across many rooms and devices. Reportedly, the latest update of Chromecast allows it to be added to speaker groups, a handy feature for those who want to enjoy simultaneous audio streaming by combining multiple Google Cast-compatible devices. Earlier, these speaker groups could only have audio device support, which meant Google Home devices, Chromecast Audio etc. Although it is possible to cast audio to the video dongles, they could not be added to these groups.
Google announced that it was going to be launched back in October but it is supposedly rolling now. As for now, the update is available only for users who enrolled for Google’s preview program. The update is compatible withall the generations of Chromecast.
Apparently, many users who did not see the Chromecast’s update were able to make the option available by restarting the device a few times. It displays the song details in the bottom left of the screen while casting to the speaker group.
One can add Chromecasts to a speaker group by signing up for the preview program available under the Settings menu present within the Google Home app for their Chromecasts. This awesome update will allow people to have multi-room audio capabilities.
