Google and Levi’s roll out new features for their smart jacket

Smartphones have made our lives a lot more convenient with highly interactive apps for just about any purpose, from paying utility bills to making travel reservations, calling cabs to mapping out the star constellations. In light of this, if a person were to lose their phone, life seems to come to a grinding halt. Losing phones is probably one of the worst things to happen to a person today, since people store their personal as well as professional information on their phones, including credit card and banking information, contacts, and memos and so on.

Taking that into consideration, Google and apparel giant Levi’s have rolled out exciting new features for their already one of a kind smart jacket. The jacket already boasts of features like the ability to control certain features of your smartphone like music volumes and shuffling, map notifications, etc. Google has now released another feature that notifies the wearer if they move away from their smartphone. It does so by sensing the distance between the jacket and the phone. The jacket’s sleeve tag would blink and vibrate, telling the users if they have forgotten to pick up their phone.

The loss of smartphones, especially the ones that are not locked, result in considerable loss of data that can really hurt users. The new jacket could go a long way in preventing such losses.
