Social Networking giant Facebook has introduced a new petition feature for the users. Dubbed as Community Actions, the new feature will enable users to send notifications to their local officials of actions according to their wish.

As per Tech Crunch, the new feature will be available to the uses in the US on Monday, allowing the users to make a petition, tag appropriate public organizations or officials, and also invite their friends to join them. The users who would support any given petition will be having the rights to manage different topics with other supporters on the page and they can also conduct fundraisers and events.

Facebook clearly cited the site’s feature as directly focused at organizing around public officials, providing different examples for the enhancement of pedestrian’s safety in one location in the city.

Facebook has already rolled out various features for people who are willing to get engaged more into their communities like Town Hall feature, which allows connecting with local officials, and its candidate feature helps political candidates to develop a vision pitch videos for constituents. The social giant has labeled its Community Action feature like this- “people to advocate for changes in their communities and partner with elected officials and government agencies on solutions.”

When it comes to demonstrable power, the company has allowed people to hold big events like Pantsuit Nation Facebook group to the first Women’s March that was initially organized on the site in 2016.
