Opera Launches Free VPN Servic...Opera has announced that it has rolled out a free VPN service. The announcement was made public on Wednesday. The free built-in VPN service is available in the new mobile app version called “Opera for Android 51”.
By using the new VPN service, more than 160 million VPN users in India will safeguard their privacy and online security. Since the new VPN service is free, users can access it any number of times without registering or creating a profile.
According to Opera, once the VPN is added by a user, the connections between a remote VPN and devices would be encrypted and privatised. The whole process will be carried out with the help of 256-bit algorithms.
After activating the VPN, it will hide the user’s location and make their activities on the internet hard to track. The new service is no-log; it means that VPN users don’t have to log or will not retain any activity data. Therefore, a user’s privacy will be established while using a VPN service.
The VPN services are used by over 650 million users worldwide and 33 percent of the users are Indian.
The company stated that “Opera for Android 51’’ rollout would be carried out gradually in every region.
“With Opera, they can now enjoy a free and no-log service that enhances online privacy and improves security,” said Peter Wallman, senior VP, Opera Browser for Android.
