4 of the Best Neighborhoods to Live in Manhattan

4 of the Best Neighborhoods to Live in Manhattan
The Silicon Review
13 May, 2019

New York City is often considered to be the best city in the world to live in and while that opinion is subject to a lot of debate, there is no doubt about NYC being among the best cities within the US at least. Now, that being said, New York is a huge city that spans across five boroughs and not every one of them is similar in terms of providing ideal living conditions, but fortunately, Manhattan is certainly one of the best boroughs to consider moving into.

Even then, there is the question of finding a neighborhood that would be ideal for you and your specificlifestyle, without having to worry about long commutes and crime rates. We are going to help you answer that question today because if you are trying to find furnished apartments in Manhattan, the following four are just about the best of the best neighborhoods in the borough.

Gramercy Park Region

There is just one private park in all of Manhattan, which is where we are going to direct you next. The entire neighborhood in the vicinity of the park area is absolutely gorgeous.

In terms of a commute, anyone living near the Gramercy Park can simply walk to NoHo, Chelsea, East Village or Union Square, so it’s in that pocket of peace where the noise of the city is just around the corner, but never loud enough to be bothersome.

Not that cheap rent is a reasonable expectation anywhere, when you are looking for furnished apartments in New York, keep in mind that the Gramercy Park area is a particularly posh region where the rent for even a super small one-bedroom apartment is probably going to set you back by at least two or three thousand dollars per month. Expect to pay much more if you want to live closer to the park and in a bigger apartment.

East Village

Students and art lovers, in particular, will prefer to stay in the gorgeous setting of the East Village. The whole neighborhood is filled with residing and often performing musicians, dancers, and artists who love nothing more than to put on a great show for their audience.

In fact, Blueground has a whole range of furnished apartments in Manhattan that are located in and around East Village, due to the neighborhood’s popularity. Then again, anyone who is looking for furnished apartments in NYC can find a lot of choice on Blueground, so that’s not really a surprise! In Manhattan, Blueground also lists luxurious, furnished apartments in Chelsea, Midtown West, the Upper East Side, the Financial District, and Tribeca to name just a few.

The advantage of going with one of these furnished apartments in New York is that if you ever decide to change the neighborhood or even the city, due to work or personal reasons, your move to the new area is also covered under the same service agreement. Before you ask, the answer is yes, Blueground doesn’t just list furnished apartments in Manhattan, but their services also extend to Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, Washington, D.C., and the San Francisco Bay Area as well.

Lower East Side

At one point in history, the Lower East Side of Manhattan was considered to be the cultural hub of NYC and not just Manhattan. The first of the 20th-century immigrants settled in this part of the town and built small businesses, which essentially grew this small neighborhood into a prosperous big one that it is today.

There is still ample proof of that past everywhere in the Lower East Side with Chinatown and Little Italy being the prime focal points of the area. If you would like to live in close vicinity to a vibrant neighborhood with cultural influences from all over the world, you should be looking to rent an apartment in this part of Manhattan.

Upper East Side

A cultural part of town, surrounded by parks, museums, and long shady trees all around, the Upper East Side of Manhattan is (arguably) the best place in the borough to raise children or to just live peacefully.

The area is calm and quiet, the streets are safe for children, there are renowned public schools nearby and, most importantly, it’s located next to Central Park; it doesn’t get more peaceful, natural, and family-friendly than that, especially if you are not willing to leave New York City behind!

If you prefer Chelsea, the Financial District or the Park Slope more, know that they are great neighborhoods as well and there are great apartments in those areas too! At the end of the day, it is all about the kind of place you are looking for and your own lifestyle, but you just can’t go wrong with the neighborhoods on this list.
