NextGen event Debut: BMW Unveils e-bike Concept

BMW has finally unveiled an electric concept bike at its first-ever NextGen event. Earlier, the company launched its first electric car six years ago.

The new electric concept bike is known as the BMW Motorrad Vision DC Roadster. For now, the development is just a futuristic approach and the concept may not hit the markets in the future.

It may be a difficult move for the company as it has been always producing a 2-cylinder boxer engine for many years. If BMW wants to launch a successful e-bike then it has to focus on something apart from the performance. 

It’s learned from the company that the Vision Roadster would be equipped with a battery pack with coolers. The concept showcases the designs which are used in Vision Roadster is similar to the company’s previous generations of the brand’s motorcycles.

The company also unveiled its e-sports car called the BMW Vision M Next at the event.  The vehicle promises to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in three seconds and offer a range of about 62 miles. Drivers can hit the BOOST+ button to generate more power.

In light of the new developments, BMW’s vision towards going electric has been boosted by the new e-bike concept. In contrast to e-cars, there are many other big carmakers such as Tesla which has leads among the e-car companies. But, the new e-bike concept by BMW will give a challenge to its counterparts.
