The premium car maker, Jaguar Land Rover, to unveil its EV manufacturing plans this week, the Sunday Times Reported. The EVs will be manufactured at the company’s Castle Bromwich factory in England.

According to the reports, the company will manufacture three vehicles which will include an all-electric version of its XJ luxury saloon followed by a sports utility vehicle.

The move by the British car maker will boost the future of its Castle Bromwich factory. The factory’s operations will be halted for a period of six weeks for installing a new range of tools for the new development.

Last month, both Jaguar Land Rover and BMW announced their partnership for electric motors, transmission and power electronics.

Jaguar Land Rover’s first electric SUV is likely to be the battery-based version of the next-gen Range Rover. The company’s first full EV is known as the Jaguar I-Pace. It is built by the Austrian car maker, Magna Steyr in Austria.

In June, the British carmaker has made a launch announcement at the investor day. The development involves the rollout of an electric-capable platform called Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA) on a "large SUV and a large premium sedan. The MLA platform will boost the EVs with a speed of upto 292 miles.

The new manufacturing plan comes at a time when a lot of things like Brexit uncertainty, job cuts, etc are surfacing.
