APS-5 Ready to Roll: Vehicle Quality Assurance Experts on a Mission

Not many are aware that Army Prepositioned Stocks-5 is the largest stock of modern ground-force equipment on the planet. That being said, in Kuwait, the maintenance experts with the 401st Army Field Support Battalion-Kuwait is said to be responsible for the quality of vehicles of Army Prepositioned Stocks-5.

Army vehicles always carry equipment worth billions. Parking lots filled with these military vehicles must be kept mobile. Sgt. 1st Class Matthew Zakrzewsk did say that maintaining these vehicles in his region is a very tough job and a very important responsibility.  He also says that people’s lives are on the line and what they do will make a huge difference. If they don’t do their job, the warfighters will suffer. That is why the APS-5 Maintenance Quality Assurance office has more than a dozen certified Soldiers who currently serve in this mission. Each of them is a specialist in the mechanical maintenance field.

This is not the first time Zakrzewski had to face this situation. A similar situation had come back in 2003 in Iraq and once again in 2007. That is why he completely understands the importance of the job and he will make sure he will pull out equipment in this situation.
