NEEM Dashboard Launched by BEE for Real-Time Appliance Energy Use
The Silicon Review
06 September, 2019

Recently a residential energy use dashboard called the ‘National Energy End-use Monitoring’ was launched by the state-run power agency- Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE). The National Energy End-use Monitoring aka NEEM is said to have 4 visible panels that will be showing energy used by an individual. That is in terms of per household, which also includes energy use intensity and the households under the program.

It is said to be the first of its kind where the BEE agrees to this. The BEE is in partnership with CLASP. The company CLASP is said to have implementing partners – Zenatix, Market Xcel and Environmental Design Solutions. Also, it is said to integrate a pan-India residential survey at the end-use. This is for real-time appliance energy monitoring. This survey went through the electricity consumption of 5,000 houses. Further, went through the appliance energy use of 200 households.

This will be representing numerous economic classes including the climate zone of these houses in India. So, the tool will be for the public so it becomes easy to understand the data on residential energy end-use. For a better future, it is important to focus on appliance energy consumption at the household level. As a result, this will also help the policymakers.
