Musk has an ambitious plan of sending a tiny group for an expedition around the moon in around four years after which the first trip to Mars can take place in an attempt to establish a human presence there.

In a recent demonstration called ‘Starhopper’, Musk attempted and succeeded with a 500 ft. jump with a test vehicle from the Launchpad. This debut voyage plans for the real thing to attain a height of around 74000 ft.
