Chinese scientists have found a massive black that is the biggest that has been discovered so far.  According to a press release from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, The black hole is seventy times the size of the sun and is an astronomical anomaly. Named LB-1, the black hole is 15000 light years away from the earth and is causing scientists to re-ponder the cause of black holes. Many theories are being set for the reason for this black hole including that it’s a fall-back from a supernova.

"Black holes of such mass should not even exist in our galaxy, according to most of the current models of stellar evolution. LB-1 is twice as massive as what we thought possible. Now theorists will have to take up the challenge of explaining its formation. This discovery forces us to re-examine our models of how stellar-mass black holes form. These twin discoveries -- the collision and now LB-1 -- indicate that scientists are reaching a renaissance in our understanding of black hole astrophysics," said a scientist from the Chinese team that had made the discovery.

This type of black hole is one of the many anomalies that have been discovered this year. Earlier this year a black hole that is smaller than usual black holes has been discovered along with another type of black hole that helps in the growth of stars which defies the theory that black holes are formed my the death of stars.
