AirPods Pro, Apple’s most recently released products has becomes the company’s hot selling product in a very short period of time. A note by the major investors for IT hardware and electronics manufacturing services Toni Sacconaghi has hinted that this is just the beginning. It is predicted that the iPhone-maker could sell 85 million AirPods in 2020 which could mean 15 billion in revenue. It could mean that AirPods become Apple’s third largest business if the rate of sales of the Pods grows at the same level again in 2021.
A report last week by CultofMac quotes that by the end of the fourth quarter, AirPods could earn four billion for Apple. Even past reports had predicted the product’s popularity. The AirPods Pro continues to remain out of stock in India and US. E-Commerce platforms in India like Amazon and Flipkart, which are authorised retailers of Apple products, do not have any stocks of the product. In the US too, the AirPods Pro are out of stock both online and in stores including the biggest retailers in the US market like Target, Best Buy, Walmart and Amazon.
Apple was expected to sell around three million units of the AirPods Pro during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday weekend sales, making the AirPods Pro the most popular Apple product during the festive season.
Analyst Dan Ives at Wedbush reports that the AirPods and the AirPods Pro wireless earbuds has created such a huge demand that Apple has amped up production.
