WhatsApp Moving Closer to Dark...WhatsApp is getting the dark mode and the users are more than ready for it. According to the reports, some WhatsApp users have already tried it out for testing and the feature is going to be ready for the masses very soon. The Facebook owned messaging app has been hinting at the dark mode for months but the actual date has not been announced.
WaBetaInfo, a website that tracks all of the developments introduced by WhatsApp through the beta version of the app, has reported that the dark mode is ready for both the Android and iOS versions of WhatsApp. The dark mode on WhatsApp is expected to help with the battery life of the phone and be gentle on the user’s eyes as compared to the harsh white screens in use currently.
People are extremely dependant on their phones and a feature like this could go a long way to help people take care of their eyes.
WhatsApp is also simultaneously testing new updates for iOS users that could bring new features like hiding the muted status update feature which currently does not exist, splash screen and app badge improvements. The new splash screen essentially lets users see the WhatsApp logo whenever they open the app on their iPhones. This feature is already available for the Android beta app and has already started appearing on many users screens.
A new privacy setting has been added last week by WhatsApp that lets users decide whether they want to join a particular group or not. The user needs to enable this feature under ‘Settings’ in the app. It can be enabled by selecting the feature under Privacy and Groups.
