Apple has decided to kill the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus after the iPhone SE became official. Apple had been selling the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus until today. It makes sense due to the similar functions of the iPhone SE and the iPhone 8. The iPhone SE is basically an iPhone 8 with the newest camera software and the latest A13 chipset. It is also available in more colors than the iPhone 8 was and is cheaper than the iPhone 8 used to be. Hence, there is no point in comparing the two phones and keeping them both in the market.
While Apple has stopped selling the iPhone 8 Plus too, it is a bit more complicated than the iPhone 8. There is no iPhone SE Plus to replace the iPhone 8 Plus so Apple is allowing its retail partners to continue selling the iPhone 8 Plus. It hasn’t been announced how long Apple is planning on continuing the sale of the iPhone 8 Plus. it would have been interesting to see an iPhone SE Plus be introduced along with the iPhone SE. But with the recent release of the iPhone 11, maybe Apple wants to divert its major fan traffic towards the iPhone 11 instead of the SE line of phones. The majority of the major Apple fans prefer buying is main series of phones instead of the side series as the hype around them is massive and they offer unparalleled features.
