Redmi to rebrand and launch K40 series as Poco Phone globally

Redmi, in a recent press meet, has stated that it could be launched globally as a Poco phone. The most-awaited Redmi K40 series was unveiled in China on February 25th, and it also includes the Vanilla Redmi version of K40, the Redmi K40 Pro, and the Redmi K40 Pro+. The phone carrying a model number of K40 pro is associated with Poco branding, and it is also present on its certification site. Xiaomi will now be rebranding one of its Redmi phones as Poco Phones.

According to the recent information provided by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), a phone with model number M2012K11AG will launch under the Poco brand. The model number is said to be Redmi's K40. This will be launched globally by the mid of this year. Xiaomi has launched the Redmi K40 series only in China and has declined to share details on its international availability.

According to the IMDA listing, around 91 mobile have been independently verified. It should be noted that even Poco has not yet stated about the release of its new phone. Earlier, Xiaomi has rebranded several Redmi phones to Poco, such as Poco C3, a rebranded Redmi 9C, the Poco M2 is a slightly tweaked Redmi Note 9 Pro.
