BlackBird Foods and Kitchen 17 expands its vegan pizza as the business skyrockets in the USA

As the food and beverages sector continues to recover amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, many plant-based brands have pivoted into retail, with frozen pizza being the principal among them. Many food-based companies, including global brands such as Veganz, Dr. Oetker, Blackbird Foods, and Kitchen 17, have moved into the similar category and have designs on becoming market leaders in the USA food and beverages sector.

Long Island startup Blackbird Foods have stated that it has recently closed a $1.5 million seed financing round with the frozen vegan pizza and is planning to expand its investment into more retail chains. A surge in demand for plant-based alternatives due to consumer health, ethical, and sustainability concerns has led to a humungous increase in the demand for frozen, plant-based convenience foods such as pizza and other products.

Similarly, Chicago-based vegan Restaurant Kitchen 17 has also expanded the shipping radius for its signature frozen deep dish pizzas and other frozen dishes. The restaurant is now offering its house-made frozen pizzas shipped to all 50 states. It shipped over 5000 pizzas across the United States last year. Kitchen 17 also makes nut-free cheese and meat substitutes in its restaurant, and it also offers its pizzas in gluten-free variety.
