The Silicon Review
26 April, 2021

Apple has launched its most awaited AirTag trackers at Apple's Spring Loaded event, and the company is aimed at helping its users find anything they have been attached to using the Find My app. Apple announced that the AirTag would be available in a new purple color variant for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini. The new color has elements of sophistication and brightness. It is also available in Black, Blue, Green, Red, and White colors.

The product will be up for pre-orders starting Friday, April 23, in 30 countries and thereafter on sale from April 30. As mentioned earlier, Purple joins the Black, Blue, Green, Red, and White colors. The price for the iPhone 12 purple variant starts from Rs. 79,900, and for iPhone 12 mini, the price starts from Rs. 69,900 - the same as the pricing for other colors

AirTag trackers are priced at Rs. 3,190 for one and Rs. 10,900 for a four-pack. AirTags use Ultra-wideband (UWB) technology to locate items. They come with the U1 chip to find Apple devices like iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch models. They offer NFC and Bluetooth LE connectivity, apart from featuring an accelerometer. It also features Siri support and a claimed one year of battery life.
