Cisco Opens New Telemetry Service to Provide Advanced Network and Security Analytics
The Silicon Review
21 April, 2021

In a recent press meet, Cisco has announced that it will offer a new tool that democratizes the use of key telemetry streams, which will help customers more effectively populate analytics applications and effectively run enterprise network management systems. Telemetry metrics are generated from enterprise resources such as switches, routers, wireless infrastructure, and Internet of Things (IoT) systems. It is primarily used by business and technology applications to closely monitor trends and help IT respond to threats in the ever-changing network conditions.

As the analytics and monitoring programs grow, there will be a huge demand for advanced, dependable telemetry data to help feed those applications. Cisco's Security Platform and response group will provide the most advanced telemetry platform with a single analytical platform. It offers different proprietary protocols and manages an organization's complex spreadsheets handed down through several admins.

Cisco Telemetry Broker will be available by the end of this month. It is designed to simplify most complex problems and reduce telemetry data consumption by brokering hybrid-cloud data, filtering unwanted data, and transforming the data to the customer's preferred format. This will set up a telemetry infrastructure that works across enterprise siloes and has no ties to proprietary protocols or data.
