Recent Study Reveals BYOD Shows a Major Security Gaps as Hybrid and Remote Work Increases

Bitglass, most renowned cloud security specialist, in a recent press meet has announced that several BYOD security report has shown the rapid adoption of unmanaged personal devices connecting to work-related resources and why several organizations are ill-equipped to deal with growing security threats such as malware and data theft. The study conducted is a joint venture with Cybersecurity Insiders.

Cybersecurity Insiders have surveyed over 271 cybersecurity professionals, to gain deep insight into mobile BYOD security threats that are faced by organizations and the solutions to prevent and remediate them immediately. The respondents range from technical executives to IT security practitioners, who represent a balanced cross-section of organizations of varying sizes across multiple industries. The insights from the report are relevant as more enterprises are shifting to permanent remote work or hybrid work models.

As enterprises begin to shift to hybrid work environments, personal devices will provide more flexibility and remote access as per the employees’ requirement. This new way of working, will undoubtedly stretch the resources of security teams. This is why there has never been a more important time for enterprises to rethink their approach and secure all types and forms of communication amongst users, devices, apps, or web destinations.
