IBM Completes Acquisition of C...IBM, in a recently held press meet, has announced that it has completed the acquisition of BoxBoat Technologies, which is a Maryland-based DevOps consultancy that delivers services including strategies for Kubernetes and enterprise container adoption, as well as app containerization, DevSecOps, training, enablement, and guides on DevOps workflows. This move will extend IBM's container and data portfolio to advance the company's hybrid cloud practice.
Containers and Kubernetes are the two most leading drivers of enterprise digital transformation. With BoxBoat joining IBM Global Business Services (GBS) Hybrid Cloud Services division, both the companies would become an industry standard with their potential to transform enterprise IT with its lightning-fast application deployment workflows. Especially for BoxBoat, working with IBM will help them work on their shared vision of helping clients innovate by successfully deploying container-based applications on-premises and the cloud.
The BoxBoat purchase will bring about a new wave of IBM IT service deals. This will help IBM managed and professional IT services to focus and innovate on public cloud computing platforms. This acquisition will also strengthen both the companies' bonds. The transaction is expected to close this fiscal quarter, subject to customary closing conditions; both the companies did not disclose the deal amount.
