The Silicon Review
08 July, 2021

In a recent press meet, Minor League Cricket (MiLC) has announced that Toyota will be the official sponsor for its inaugural championship season in 2021. SLING TV will present the Toyota Minor League Cricket Championship, and the games are set to begin on July 31. More than $4,000,000 has been invested by Minor League Cricket and its 27 team owners to start the tournament, and this will be the most extensive competition ever to take place in American cricket.

The Toyota Minor League Cricket Championship will feature ten weekends of competition, and it is a Twenty20 format that is being loved by cricket fans around the world. The total prize money of $250,000 will be awarded to the winning franchise of the competition, and this represents the largest purse in American cricket.

Twenty-seven participating teams will compete for the championship across four geographic divisions: Eastern, Central, Southern, and Western, and over 200 games will be played in 21 cities nationwide. “We're honored to be part of the first-ever Minor League Cricket season and to help support the growth of the sport as it embarks on its most extensive competition ever to take place in the United States,”said Matt Ozawa, manager, asset management and activation, Toyota Motor North America.
