Companies in the US show their...The motto of the initiative is to completely pivot towards sustainable energy and achieve the zero carbon target by the year 2050
American Airlines has leaped to second place from its previous 23rd rank this year. CEO of AirHelp, Henrik Zillmer, has stated that weather conditions played a major role in this jump and the rate of disruption was also very less when compared to previous years. Various companies in the US like General Motors, Microsoft, and American Airlines Group have joined hands with each other to show their commitment to clean energy. The motto of the initiative is to completely pivot towards sustainable energy and achieve the zero carbon target by the year 2050.
Breakthrough Energy Program will aim at raising money from philanthropists, companies, and the government to make sure that the clean technology’s cost is on the lower side. According to Breakthrough Energy, other popular names like Boston Consulting Group, Bank of America Corp, ArcelorMittal SA, and BlackRock have also entered the program. In a statement that was recently issued by American Airlines, it was mentioned that the company had invested $100mn. As of now, the program will focus on four main areas green hydrogen, air capture, sustainable aviation fuel, and long-term energy storage. The US companies are supporting the cause right after Biden’s move to accelerate carbon-cutting.
