Napoleon Hill on Communicating Desire: ‘It Outwits Mother Nature’

Napoleon Hill on Communicating Desire: ‘It Outwits Mother Nature’
The Silicon Review
23 September, 2021

“As soon as the child was old enough to co-operate, I would fill his mind so completely with a burning desire to hear, that nature would by methods of her own, translated into physical reality.”

The human mind works in mysterious ways. However, the potential it carries is limitless. People who have relied on its powerful instructions have truly made a difference in the world. Be it technology, medicine, or any field. The most astonishing aspect: man has just utilized 10 percent of the brain. Now imagine the capacity it carries. If 10 percent offers this many technological discoveries, how would the world be if man utilizes 100 percent of it! Recently, I was reading a book titled ‘Think and Grow Rich’ by Napoleon Hill. The book depicts the power of the subconscious. How repeatedly signaling your brain via words or actions gets stored in the subconscious. The author asserts that the subconscious plays a vital role in shaping a human being, so the actions we take must be creative and based on facts. He talks about his son being deaf and how the former consistently injected his rich thoughts into the latter’s brain. With time passing, the son started reacting to what his father has been communicating to him. Yes, the things he conveyed to his son were impossible, but the subconscious mind played its role here. As a result, he believed his father as his subconscious convinced him to do so. Here’s a quote from the book.

“As soon as the child was old enough to co-operate, I would fill his mind so completely with a burning desire to hear, that nature would by methods of her own, translated into physical reality.”

“All this thinking took place in my mind, but I spoke of it to no one. Every day I renewed the pledge I had made to myself, not to accept a deaf mute for a son.”
