Windstream, a popular communication and software company in the US, has recently made an announcement that it has received a score of 12.9 in ESG Risk Rating conducted by Sustainalytics. The scores received by the company show that it is one of the top-ranked in the country. This study has also placed Windstream under the low-risk category of receiving impact from governance, environmental, and social factors. Out of the 214 companies that participated in the study, Windster was placed in the second position, and we must note that Sustainalytics had covered global companies too and placed Windstream in the top 1 percent.
In a separate announcement, Windstream has stated that the company is all set to unveil the plans that will make efforts to reduce the purchase of Scope 2 electricity. Tony Thomas, President, and CEO of Windstream, has stated that by reducing the purchase of Scope 2 electricity, the company’s emission will further go down by 40 percent by the end of 2025. Windstream is thrilled with the score, and better policies and public disclosures can be expected in the annual ESG reports. The Sustainalytics evaluation process takes into consideration the company’s risk exposure, security, and data privacy.
