‘Metaverse’ is a word that has been trending for the last few weeks, and the hype is so huge that tech giant Facebook had also recently changed its name to Meta. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, had stated that metaverse would completely change the way people use the internet, and products of Facebook will work to change the experience. Soon after Mark’s announcement, Microsoft has also stated that it wanted to commit itself to the metaverse. Commonly people think that metaverse is a blend of augmented reality, web, and virtual reality.

Further, one may also go to the extent of comparing the same with movies like Ready Player One and Matrix. The internet is filled with various posts in regards to the metaverse, and it has become a buzzword overnight. The Microsoft metaverse is something that is very similar to Facebook’s metaverse, but the difference is Microsoft is thinking in terms of work while Facebook is more about social interactions and social media. Microsoft’s metaverse is titled Mesh, and it is expected to make its debut by the first quarter of 2022. The updated version of the same will have features that are already present in Teams, like the Presenter mode and Together mode.
