Recent buzz from Google indica...The search engine giant is all set to unveil its Windows emulator for Linux in the upcoming Games Developer Summit
According to recent developments, Google has apparently come up with its own solution to support Windows games on Stadia. The search engine giant is all set to unveil its Windows emulator for Linux in the upcoming Games Developer Summit that is scheduled to take place on March 15th. Some of the Reddit users have pointed out that a session is expected to be held at the summit on How to write a Windows emulator for Linux from scratch.
Marcin Undak is expected to lead the session on porting Google’s Stadia. The session will give the developers a detailed overview of the technology behind Google’s solution to run unmodified Windows games on Google’s Stadia. It looks like the company has come up with the solution to port games easily because previously, the developers had to modify titles for Linux. If the emulator manages to function live on Stadia instead of just some tests, this could help several people as many games can reach Stadia in the future. When Stadia made its debut on Linux, all the server hardware was running on Linux three years ago. This, in turn, led to developers porting the games to Stadia. Stadia had to partner with several big wigs like Unity, Havok, and Unreal to get the games on its platform.
