Tech giant Microsoft has recently made an announcement that it will make a feature called Autopatch generally available. The offering will be accessible from July 2022 Windows Enterprise E3. Microsoft’s Senior Product Marketing Manager, Lior Bela, has stated that the latest service is all set to keep Office and Windows software enrolled for automatic updates at no extra cost. Furthermore, it was also revealed that every second Tuesday will now be just another Tuesday.
The Windows Autopatch will work with all the supported versions of Windows 11, Windows 365 for Enterprises, and Windows 10. However, it was revealed that Windows 365 for Business and Windows Server OS would not support the service. Microsoft has stated that the new feature is aimed at dealing with the difficulties in regards to software updates in IT environments, and this will close all the security gaps by applying security patches in a timely manner. Thereby we can avert any potential new threats that come up. The managed service will work by updating four deployment rings, and updates will be applied first to small devices and then move to bigger sets. If the users encounter any major issues due to Autopatch, then it can be paused by the user.
