Netflix moves closer to its Cl...The games are currently accessible only to subscribers but must be downloaded as separate apps.
Netflix is inching closer to its dream of entering the world of Cloud gaming. The streaming platform is now looking to hire professionals on the Cloud gaming services like Google Stadia, Amazon Luna, Apple Arcade, and Sony PlayStation Now. Netflix recently launched mobile games like "Before Your Eyes" and "Into the Beach," among others. Less than 1% of its subscribers are currently playing its mobile games. It is planning to launch around 50 gaming titles by the end of the year. While mobile games are not very popular, a cloud gaming service may get more eyeballs, especially from young gamers.
According to Protocol, "Cloud gaming makes a lot of sense for Netflix. Not only would it allow the company to bring its games to the TV screen without relying on the game consoles alone, but the cloud is also an environment Netflix is very familiar with." The platform is accelerating its push into the world of video games and has been rolling out games since last November. The games are currently accessible only to subscribers but must be downloaded as separate apps. Netflix has named TikTok and Epic Games its biggest rivals.
