Two Air France pilots were suspended after a physical altercation in cockpit

Two Air France pilots were suspended

The report says that two Air France pilots have been suspended for getting into a fistfight in the cockpit.

The airline confirms that two pilots of Air France exchanged "inappropriate gestures" and were involved in an altercation while in the cockpit of an A320 flight heading to Paris from Geneva. The spat took place in June 2022. It led to the suspension of both pilots, who Air France had not named. After hearing the noise, the members of the cabin crew intervened. One crew member stayed in the cockpit until the flight safely landed.

It was said by the airline that the pilots concerned are currently suspended from flying and are awaiting a managerial decision on the outcome of the incident. Air France reminds us that the safety of its crew member and customers is its priority. However, the incident occurred two months ago and became public only after a story in the French-language business newspaper La Tribune last week. The newspaper alleges that there are significant structural issues with Air France.

The French governmental department that oversees the aviation industry, the Bureau of Enquiry and Analysis for Civil Aviation Safety, said that it had issued a safety recommendation concerning the compliance with procedures of the operator.
