Meta introduces new features to make it easier to switch between Facebook and Instagram

Meta introduces new features

Once both the accounts have been linked, people can toggle between the two apps easily

Meta confirmed that it is testing new features to make it easier for users to manage both their Instagram and Facebook profiles through one interface. The move is in line with Meta’s attempt to consolidate its apps and make it more users friendly and ensure that they aren’t very distinct from each other. One of the features allows users to switch between their Instagram and Facebook accounts as long as they have added both to the accounts manager. Once both the accounts have been linked, people can toggle between the two apps easily and see notifications for both apps. It also works for people who have multiple accounts.

Meta also changed its user-registration process so it’s easier to log in and create new Instagram and Facebook accounts. The new features enable new users create accounts on both services as opposed to just one of the apps, which are seen as a way to attract more users. Meta said the new account management features are “currently limited to Facebook and Instagram,” but that the company will “continue to explore how to improve connected experiences across all of our technologies.”
