NFL announced Rihanna to headl...The NFL has announced that pop star Rihanna will headline the half-time show at Super Bowl in Arizona, in February.
The nine-time Grammy winner Rihanna broke the news by posting on Twitter. She posted a photo of an NFL-branded football. The 34 years old pop star is called "generational talent" by the organizer in a press release on Sunday night.
The NFL said that this year, with a 14-minute spectacle the show is one of the most coveted slots in music as it will draw in more than 120 million viewers. The all-star lineup includes Eminem, Dr. Dre, Mary J Blige, Snoop Dogg, and Kendrick Lamar. The show Super Bowl has earned an Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety Special (Live).
Seth Dudowsky, the NFL’s head of music said that the pop star Rihanna is a once-in-a-generation artist and she has been a cultural force throughout her career. Jay-Z, the owner of Roc Nation, the entertainment company which will help organize the performance, called Rihanna a woman of humble beginnings who has exceeded expectations at every turn. This pop star’s move marks a sharp turn from the singer, who turned down an offer in 2019 to headline the show to show solidarity with the NFL star Colin Kaepernick.
