Tesla boss ordered to recall m...In the US, Tesla recalled nearly 1.1 million cars because the windows might close too fast and pinch people's fingers.
American regulators produced documents, which show that the windows may not react correctly even after detecting an obstruction. This problem is a safety standard violation, says the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. According to the tech giant, a software update will fix the problem.
The largest electric-vehicle manufacturer in the world has had repeated run-ins with federal safety regulators because of some technical glitches in the vehicles. Previously recalls have been made due to bonnet latches, sound system software, seat-belt reminder, and rare view cameras. The recent recall covers all four Tesla models, specifically some 2020-21 Model Y SUVs, Model S sedans, 2017-22 Model 3 sedans, and Model X SUVs.
The problem with the automatic window was discovered by Tesla in August, during production. From November 15 owners of the cars will be notified by letter. The vehicles made after September 13 already have the updated software needed to resolve the issue, as per the company document. Tesla said it was not aware of any crashes, injuries, warranty claims, or deaths related to the recall.
