Kanye West to buy Parler, a social media platform

Much of his fortune comes from his partnerships with Gap and the Yeezy sneakers brand

Kanye West, the superstar rapper has agreed in principle to buy the social media platform Parler, the app’s parent company confirmed the same in a statement. The move comes after Kanye was locked out of his Twitter and Instagram accounts for making anti-semitic remarks. The American rapper has a reported net worth of $2 billion. Much of his fortune comes from his partnerships with Gap and the Yeezy sneakers brand.

However, Ye severed business ties with Gap, Adidas and JPMorgan Chase are reviewing their business relationship with him and thinking of severing ties with him. Ye and Parler’s parent company expect to finalize the deal before the end of the year, the company said. The terms of the deal include technical support for Parler from its parent company, as well as the use of its private cloud services, according to the Monday announcement.
