Elon Musk again sold Tesla shares for almost $4 billion

Tesla boss has sold another 19.5 million shares of the company worth $3.95 billion, filings with the US financial watchdog show.

The news about selling shares came less than two weeks after the richest man in the world completed his $44 billion takeover of Twitter. Since the start of this year, Tesla's share price has fallen by more than 50%. Separately, In the US, Tesla had to recall over 40,000 of its vehicles because of a potential problem with the power steering.

The latest sale took place last week but its reason has not yet been disclosed. Till this time the total value of Tesla shares sold by the owner is almost $20 billion, since his announcement of buying a Twitter stake, earlier this year.

Mr. Musk sold $8.5 billion stocks of the car-making company in April and stocks of around $7 billion worth in August. The shareholders of Tesla also approved a three-for-one stock split in August which is far behind part of the fall in the value of the shares.
