A landslide in Southern Brazil on a motorway has left dozens of people missing and killed at least two.

In a news conference, the Local authorities told that between 30 and 50 people could be missing. Emergency services have located six survivors including the mayor Roberto Justus of the coastal town of Guaratuba. According to the AFP news agency, Mr. Justus said that he was alive by the grace of God, in a video posted on social media. He added it was horrible that the mountain fell on top of them and swept away every last car.

The landslide took place on Monday night and the aerial images released by emergency services show the damage caused, it swept away a section of the highway and the vehicles on it. There are still concerns that there could be further landslides as the national weather service INMET issued warnings of heavy rainfall in multiple states in Brazil.
