Tesla reports 1.31 million del...Tesla has released its fourth-quarter vehicle production and deliveries report for 2022, which indicates a 40% increase over the previous year.
As of December 31, 2022, a consensus of analyst estimates compiled by FactSet projected that Tesla would report around 427 thousand deliveries for the final quarter of the year. Estimates included in the December FactSet consensus ranged between 409,000 and 433,000. Martin Viecha, vice president of investor relations at Tesla, disseminated a company-compiled consensus that matched these more recent estimates. This consensus published by electric vehicle industry researcher @TroyTeslike indicated that 24 sell-side analysts anticipated quarterly Tesla deliveries of approximately 417,957 vehicles on average.
This year, Tesla started making cars at two new factories in Austin, Texas and Brandenburg, Germany. It also made more cars in Fremont, California and Shanghai. However, the company doesn’t say how many cars it makes or delivers in each region.
However, the results for the fourth quarter fell short of analyst expectations. In fourth quarter, Tesla reported that it delivered 388,131 Model 3 sedans and Model Y crossovers, while 17,147 Model S sedans and Model X SUVs.
