The newly established cloud area will serve Qatar's National Vision 2030

With the help of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the Qatar Free Zone Authority (QFZ), Google Cloud recently announced the launch of its Doha cloud region at an official launch event that was attended by ministers from the Qatari Cabinet and executives from top Qatari companies. The newly established cloud area will serve Qatar's National Vision 2030, which seeks to transform the entire country into a digital economy through innovation and digital transformation, as well as the ever-growing demand for cloud services in the Middle East and Qatar.

According to research commissioned by Google Cloud and carried out by Access Partnership, the new Doha cloud region is predicted to stimulate more economic activity, increase Qatar's gross domestic product by a total of 18.9 billion USD between 2023 and 2030, and support the creation of 25,000 jobs in that year alone. The recent opening of a national office and virtual centre of excellence (CoE) in Msheireb by Google Cloud, along with the creation of this new cloud region, represents the company's most recent significant investment in Qatar. The sequence of infrastructure and resource investments shows Google Cloud's ongoing dedication to supporting Qatar's digital future and technical advancements.
