LG Partners with Amazon to Bring Amazon Luna Game Streaming to Smart TVs

Game Smart TVs
The Silicon Review
24 August, 2023

Amazon Prime members can access select games for free, including Fortnite.

LG has collaborated with Amazon to extend the Amazon Luna game streaming service to LG’s smart TV models launched between 2021 and 2023 and running webOS 6.0 or later. The app is now available in Canada, Germany, the UK, and the United States. Amazon Prime members can access select games for free, including Fortnite. A Luna+ subscription includes access to a more extensive game catalog, including games such as "Sonic Mania Plus," "Resident Evil 2," and "Lego DC Super Villains. The subscription is priced at $9.99 per month.

Users can also choose from a range of other bundles, such as Ubisoft+ for $17.99 per month, which offers games such as "Assassin’s Creed" and "Farcry," as well as Jackbox games for $4.99 per month, which will unlock a set of multiplayer party games. Users will be able to use a Luna Controller or a compatible Bluetooth-based controller to play games. Last August, Amazon Luna launched its app on Samsung Smart TVs, and with this latest partnership with LG, the service will be available on even more big screens. Amazon Luna launched in the United States in March 2022 and currently offers almost 177 titles, including games offered on various channels. This collaboration makes playing Amazon Luna games more accessible to users who don't have a gaming console, making gaming on a TV more feasible.
