ElevenLabs Launches AI-Powered...ElevenLabs's text-to-speech generation tools aim to provide spoken audio capabilities.
ElevenLabs, the AI-powered platform for creating synthetic voices, has launched out of beta with support for more than 30 languages, according to a company statement. Using an in-house AI model, the tools are capable of identifying languages, including Korean, Dutch, and Vietnamese, and generating "emotionally rich" speech. Customers can also use the platform's voice-cloning tool to speak across almost 30 languages without typing text. Created to make all content universally accessible in any language and voice. ElevenLabs's text-to-speech generation tools aim to provide spoken audio capabilities.
To date, the company has raised $19 million from investors, including Andreessen Horowitz and DeepMind co-founder Mustafa Suleyman, at a $99 valuation. The newly launched platform has also included new safeguards since a publicized incident last year that saw bad actors use the platform for their own ends. Once private individuals and small businesses sign up, they will have access to a free version that limits how much they can use the system. Further down the line, ElevenLabs architects plan to extend the platform's AI models to voice dubbing. Start-ups Papercup and Deepdub have also looked at pioneering voice dubbing technologies by building what they call "a foundation to be able to transfer emotions and intonation from one language to another".
