iRobot has launched the Roomba j9+, a robot vacuum and mop that features 4-Stage Cleaning System and unique Dual Rubber Brushes. The new SKU has double the scrubbing, as per iRobot, and boasts the Dry Rug Intelligence feature for high-pile rugs. The company has announced that the j9+ is getting upgraded with iRobot OS 7.0, which includes Dirt Detective and SmartScrub features, to make the cleaning more efficient for customers. The robot is now available in Europe and will be sold in Canada and the US from tomorrow. CEO Colin Angle believes that the software will be the crucial factor for the growth of the robot industry.
"iRobot continues to raise the bar. In 2021, we went all-in and said iRobot will refund your money if it ever hits poop, which no one has done since. We continue to honor that. Earlier this year, we started automatically labeling rooms", he said. The Roomba j9+ is priced at $899 for the vacuum cleaner alone and $1,399 for the package including the dock. The launch of the new product line follows the success of Roomba Combo j7+ and the Roomba Combo i5+. iRobot aims to compete with its rivals, including Roborock and Ecovac, via this new offering.
