Blues partnered with Skylo Technologies to unveil Revolutionary Satellite Data Connectivity

Blues partnered with Skylo

Ray Ozzie highlighted the groundbreaking nature of Starnote

Skylo Technologies is partnering with Blues to enhance accessible and affordable satellite connectivity, as stated by Tarun Gupta, Skylo's Chief Product Officer and Co-Founder. The collaboration aims to provide Blues' customers with streamlined cost models and unparalleled developer accessibility. Through the Starnote solution, customers can access a cost-efficient and reliable module serving as a backup satellite connectivity option when devices exceed cellular coverage. Starnote seamlessly integrates with a customer's existing Notecard, offering automatic satellite fallback for devices primarily using LTE Cat-M, LTE Cat-1, NB-IoT, GPRS, or Wi-Fi.

Traditional cellular networks are optimized for high availability in densely populated areas, posing challenges for businesses needing cloud connectivity in remote regions. Starnote addresses this by making satellite IoT accessible and affordable, eliminating monthly fees. Each Starnote module comes with pre-paid data for a year or more, simplifying the activation process. Blues chose to partner with Skylo Technologies due to its ability to enable IoT devices to connect directly over existing satellite constellations. Skylo operates on a "connect and send anytime" basis using Geostationary Equatorial Orbit (GEO) constellations, unlike carriers using sparse Low Earth Orbit (LEO) constellations, which require scheduling transmissions based on satellite overhead passes. Skylo's approach allows for immediate, time-sensitive alerts for critical infrastructure or environmental monitoring.
