28 Febuary, 2024

This would accelerate enterprises’ digital transformation through real-time 3D technology

Capgemini and Unity, the world's premier framework for generating and growing real-time 3D (RT3D) content, have extended their strategic partnership. Capgemini will acquire Unity's Digital Twin Professional Services business, creating one of the world's largest pools of Unity enterprise developers. This integration aims to accelerate the iteration and implementation of real-time 3D visualization software for industrial digital twin applications, enabling users to visualize, understand, and interact with physical systems, thus facilitating intelligent industry practices. The deal is expected to be finalized in the second quarter of 2024. Unity's Digital Twin Professional Services team, known for its work in developing real-time 3D solutions over the past five years, has collaborated with numerous companies.

With the growing trend of merging physical and digital realms, there is a heightened demand for RT3D software capabilities coupled with business transformation and engineering expertise to derive value from digital twins on an industrial scale. Through this agreement, Capgemini aims to extend the reach and utilization of Unity's software, enabling more organizations to explore and implement RT3D technology to create immersive experiences. Following the terms of this agreement, Capgemini intends to expand high demand, particularly to sector solutions such as simulation, human-machine interfaces, and immersive training environments. These solutions are especially relevant to industries such as automotive, consumer products and retail, energy and utilities, aerospace and defense, healthcare and life sciences, and industrial products and manufacturing, as they cater to specific use cases while driving innovation in digital twin applications.
