Yoox Net-a-Porter launched vir...The virtual try-on experience will undergo pilot testing internationally
The online luxury retail group Yoox Net-a-Porter has introduced its inaugural virtual try-on experience for Mr. Porter’s private label, catering to the menswear brand Mr. P. This initiative aims to offer customers a seamless and personalized approach to determining their ideal size and fit for garments from the Mr. P. collection, utilizing virtual try-on technology in a pilot program. Approximately seventy percent, or ninety styles, of Mr. P.’s permanent collection on Mr. Porter will integrate this technology. Clients can input their preferred sizes from other fashion brands or follow step-by-step instructions to generate a high-fidelity 3D avatar closely mirroring their body measurements using the newly introduced size simulator tool. This enables them to visualize a garment on their virtual body with realistic precision within seconds, facilitating better decision-making regarding fit and suitability.
Yoox Net-a-Porter's consumer analytics reveal that size and fit issues are primary contributors to product returns, prompting the introduction of the virtual try-on feature to reduce return rates. The company plans to monitor return rates over a six-month trial period to assess the efficacy of the technology. Alison Loehnis, serving as the interim chief executive at Yoox Net-a-Porter, expressed enthusiasm for the launch, stating that the company has been closely monitoring advancements in virtual try-on technology, seeking intuitive and seamless functionality. It is thrilled to debut our tool, which is believed to serve as an exceptional and user-friendly shopping aid.
