American Airlines became the f...American's new daily flight will provide roundtrip connections to over 30 cities across Japan and East Asia
The US Department of Transportation (DOT) recently granted approval for American Airlines to operate nonstop flights between New York’s JFK Airport and Tokyo’s Haneda International Airport (HND). American Airlines stands as the first and currently sole US carrier to offer this direct connection. Brian Znotins, American’s Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning, expressed anticipation for the launch of flights between JFK and HND this summer. Znotins emphasized that this new service will complement the flights provided by American's joint business partner, Japan Airlines, offering customers more travel options between the US and Japan.
Tickets for the new route became available on February 26, with the inaugural flights set for June 28. American Airlines will operate daily return flights, enhancing the current offerings provided by Japan Airlines, their business partner. As a result, travelers flying between New York and Tokyo during the summer will have up to three daily flight options, spanning various times throughout the day to accommodate diverse schedules. The new JFK–HND service will mark American Airlines' fourth daily nonstop flight to Tokyo, joining the existing daily service from Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and two daily flights from Los Angeles (LAX). Through the joint business partnership between American and Japan Airlines, customers will have access to up to 17 daily flights between the continental United States and Japan next summer, including 10 daily flights to HND.
