Norfolk Southern Corporation has announced the appointment of Betsy Talton-Buck as vice president and chief communications officer and Angie Kolar as vice president and chief compliance officer, effective April 9, 2024. Both will report to Executive Vice President Corporate Affairs and Chief Legal Officer Nabanita Nag. Talton-Buck joins Norfolk Southern from Delta Air Lines, where she spent two decades, most recently serving as vice president of global public relations and reputation. With extensive experience in crisis and reputation management, brand building, and employee engagement, Talton-Buck brings valuable insights garnered from roles at aircraft manufacturer Embraer and Ketchum.
Nag emphasized Talton-Buck's background in customer-focused companies and her strategic mindset, predicting her significant impact on driving competitive value for Norfolk Southern. In her new role, Kolar will oversee Norfolk Southern’s business ethics and compliance function, aiming to cultivate a culture of strong oversight and control across the organization. With 20 years of experience at Colonial Pipeline, Kolar's expertise spans compliance, ethics, field operations, and accounting. Previously serving as Colonial Pipeline’s senior vice president, operations, EHS, and compliance, Kolar is well-positioned to advise Norfolk Southern’s leadership on matters of regulatory compliance and compliance culture.
