India Emerges as a Global Lead...Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, Abhishek Singh, revealed the perpetual efforts to enhance ICT cooperation with Africa
With exports to more than 100 countries, telecom equipment industry of India has reached a significant milestone. Exporting telecom equipment and services worth $18.2 billion, the country demonstrated its increasing relevance in the international market.
Member (Technology) of the Digital Communications Commission, Madhu Arora, pointed out that despite strong competition in the global market, the Indian telecom enterprises have made significant reach in the Western markets, including the US. Highlighting the progress of local R&D efforts, she also noted the Indian Army’s recent integration of its first indigenous chip-based 4G mobile base station. At the 'Defence Sector ICT Conclave' held in the national capital, Arora emphasized the vital role of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in defence operations, congratulating India’s dynamic ICT sector for its innovation and global influence. Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, Abhishek Singh, revealed the perpetual efforts to enhance ICT cooperation with Africa, focusing mainly on evolving technologies such as AI and blockchain to tackle regional obstacles. India is contributing significantly to the digital transformation across Africa, with significant cumulative investments around $75 billion.
Sandeep Aggarwal, Immediate Past Chairman of the Telecom Equipment & Services Export Promotion Council (TEPC), pointed out the vitality of ICT for national autonomy and praised India's prowess in data analytics and AI for improving defence capabilities.
